Christmas Eve

This was the first Christmas Markel and I spent together as Husband and Wife + the first year we weren’t with Family for Christmas Eve.  Sooo, we made up our OWN tradition!  We decided to have sushi for dinner and invited over our close friends who also live in our building.  The four of us feasted on delicious food, drank a little Champs to celebrate and then went to see Her in theatres.  It was such a lovely and low key evening, I can’t wait to make it a continuous tradition for us as we begin this amazing journey as Husband and Wife.

xo  Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas!

Weekend Recap and Photodump

This past weekend was  BLAST!!  I went glamping with 2 of my besties and we explored San Francisco a bit on Sunday. =)

Friday I flew out to the San Jose airport and they picked me up along their way to the campsite near Santa Cruz.

When we got to the campsite, it was SOO nice!  It was called Constanoa~ and you had the option of staying in a hotel, fancy cabin, tent-cabin hybrid (which we did), bring your own tent, or bring your own RV.  The campsite was split into different areas and it was REALLY fun to have a weekend away from city life.  There was absolutely no cell phone reception, but luckily there was wifi!  Not quite “roughing-it”… =)

*Important things first…we set up our snack table!

For the first part of Saturday we made breakfast, hiked for a few hours, napped, and relaxed in our tent.

In the evening, we ate at this bomb restaurant (on the camp site) and then tried about 6 times to start a fire.  It took 2 of our neighbors to help us get it going >.<  Next time we’ll know how to start a fire for SURE!  lol

Sunday…was a day of eating.  And that’s about it… lol

Weekend Recap and Photodump: Father’s Day and UCLA Commencement!

This past weekend was really fun, busy and tiring.  But of course…mostly fun ❤

Friday, I came home from work and had some wine while watching Korean Dramas.

image

Then…we did something SUPER fun…we walked to dinner and then watched Man of Steel!  We so rarely get to hang out alone together that it felt super special…first date special ❤  When we first started dating, we walked to this same theater all the time and grabbed dinner at the random restaurants around it.  Having this kind of an experience again was…amazing.

Friday Night we went to Morongo Casino as a foursome, ate dinner and gambled our free $10 cards at the penny slots.  Safe to say…no one won big that night =(

Sunday: Father’s Day!  We went bowling and had a delicious BBQ

Coming Home from Beaumont:

image

Markel and I have a storage unit in Beaumont with our childhood items.  Both our parents moved and so we combined our boxes into a storage unit and we were settled.  Now that we are…it’s pretty dreadful to move things into the apartment when you’re already moved in.  *sigh *  In any case, it’s going to take about 3 trips to empty it all out.  Here is our first trip (Barry is back!!):

Strong “shots” of coffee.  I accidentally bought 250 of these from amazon…please don’t ask.  The only “pro” of this is that they are travel size.  I do NOT recommend getting these yourself…they taste AWFUL.

Fun end of the year party for work!  (i made the salads + fruit salad)

I had such a fun weekend that it’s hard to come back… *sigh *

Well, have a great weekend everyone!

Weekend and Week and Photodump

This past weekend and week were full of fun dinners, friends, and Christmas cheer!

Friday night, I went to dinner with some of my favorite pentee girls and we had the most delicious dinner at Chaya brassiere in mid-city, Los Angeles.

 Best cocktails!

Saturday, Markel and I moved our things into storage (until we can move in together)~ and that was pretty crazy.  It’s so hard to predict what items I’ll want to keep or use in 6 months, what items I”ll never need, and what things to keep from my childhood.  *tear *

During the early evening, I actually had to work at UCLA but it turned out to be pretty awesome since I was in charge of the wine and cheese reception =P

For dinner, I went to Pete’s in downtown LA on the corner of 4th street and Main.  My friend Christian celebrates his birthday here every year and it’s become a beloved tradition!

Sunday, Markel and I went to church, ktown and then made 6 wine cork letters (along with some SUPER cute reception numbers!).  For dinner I met my friend at Hara sushi and caught up ❤

And now…it’s the weekend already! =)

Rustic Day or Night…Wedding Table Decor

Love these tablescapes!!  They’re both so romantic, classic and glamorous.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE these looks.  I can’t decide between the two…But i’m sure whichever one I choose~ the reception will be perfect.

I was really stuck on a colored uplight…but after these two pictures…I think low white light would be gorgeous.

What do you think?  Do you like Day or Night?

Summer Dinner Party Ideas~

Since I live in LA, our warm months far exceed our cold ones.  So with the bright sunshine and the warm weather…I can’t help but only want to host parties out on my huge the patio~~

Here are some fun food/decor ideas for my first one this year =)
