New Year’s Eve Outfit Idea #1

I just got this in from Piperlime and I’m obsessed with this gold dress!!  Not only is it incredibly comfortable/stretchy, but the gold really pops out!

I’m thinking I could pair this with hot pink lipstick and some romantic hair? =)

Paired the dress with a beaded black necklace (can’t remember where I got it), black BCBG clutch, bebe heels.

Dress (click here).  It’s on sale right now!!  I totally bought it before then (boo) but at least you can get it for a discount now!

Piperlime Jewelry Wishlist/Lusts

I am…to put it mildly…OBSESSED with Piperlime.  I am such a huge online shopping addict.  It’s sad really…I NEVER go to the malls anymore which would probably be a more useful and productive way to spend my time (burn calories and only buy what looks good).

ANYWAYY…here are a few pieces that I’m seriously lusting after this Winter!

Favorite Online Shopping Sites

Who DOESN’T love online browsing for clothes, accessories, shoes, purses…household goods??

1. Amazon

https://i0.wp.com/www.savingadvice.com/articles/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/amazon.com-logo.jpg

I have Amazon prime and probably buy something from this site no less than 1x per week.  This site is seriously the most incredible .com site EVER.  You can buy groceries, books, household goods, craft supplies, clothes, shoes, makeup…EVERYTHING.  I swear someday they’ll sell lumbar and delivery it within 2 days.  If I could only shop on one site for the rest of my life, Amazon would be it.  As an Amazon Prime member, I get free 2-day shipping and it’s just SO EASY to get stuff in a flash.  Shopping in LA is so hard with traffic/parking that I rely heavily on prime shipping.  My coworkers say that as Mom’s, they buy all their baby stuff through Amazon so that they don’t have to go to a store with a screaming baby (just the hassle of traveling with the baby is avoided).  AND returns are really easy!

2. Piperlime

https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQd22Zvm6OqfBGASBSb0h4Gc5xK_l1bB4WkgwsqwUEAkwEqxsKy3A

My go-to site for all clothes, shoes, jewelry, purses, etc.  I even go here for GIFTS!  It’s just so easy to order from there because I completely TRUST the brand, the items sold on the site AND you can return it for free.  I have a banana republic luxe card and I get free shipping on all the orders as well.  Shopping with Piperlime/Gap/Banana Republic/Old Navy/Athletica is SO easy.  Plus, shipping is FAST.

3. ASOS

https://i1.wp.com/d1n0t8embjb5t8.cloudfront.net/wp/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/asos_logo.jpg

Asos is a site that I go to for everything I can’t find on #1 and #2.  Shipping and Returns are fast and free.  There are THOUSANDS of products on this site and everything is incredibly trendy and fair priced.  I don’t trust everything on this site the way I trust Piperlime, but I’m never afraid to order since I can easily return what I don’t like.

If you’re not used to shopping online or are afraid of it~ start with these three sites!  They really make the buying/returning experience easy and each company comes with really superb customer service if you need help. =)

xoxoxo  Happy Holiday Shopping!

Statement Earrings

In my early 20s, I was ALL ABOUT the loud, flashy earrings.  I mean the bigger and more obnoxious the better.  I liked my hair big, makeup bright, and earrings the size of saucers.  As a late 20s (almost 30) gal, I’ve started to wear more flashy studs.  I dress up casual outfits for work with statement studs or pair a LBD with big earrings.  I’ve found that fancy studs are WAY more versatile.  Plus, since they’re not as obvious, you can wear them more often that flashy dangling earrings.

Here are three I ordered from Piperlime.  Unfortunately, I only liked the Sabine earrings.  The others just weren’t as cute in person as they were online.  Or at least they didn’t look good on me.  The Banana Earrings were TOO unique, which meant that I couldn’t get a lot of wear out of them, and the Tinley Road earrings were gorgeous but a little too mature for me.

A Musical Note, Pinata and Party

We had a big 30th birthday bash for my boss last week and the decorations came out…PERFECTLY.  My other coworker did 99% of the decorations around the music note theme (she works in that department)~ and it made me want to copy it for another party!!

Here are the decorations below~~ the creme flags in the middle are a music sheet pattern.  SO CUTE.  The entire party was a white/black/cream color theme.

image

My bad pinwheels on the tables with catering from Fundamental in Westwood (SUCH GREAT FOOD).

image

Isn’t this sign so adorable??  The letters are made of a music sheet pattern and the little notes on the side add the perfect touch. ❤

image

This was LITERALLY the only thing I contributed too.  Hanging notes and pinwheels.  I wouldn’t say these were “cute” or “crafty”…they just sorta added to the music theme that my talented coworker put together.

image

AND the FINALE~~~A MUSIC NOTE PINATA!!!  How incredibly adorable is this???  My coworker MADE IT from scratch!!!!  She put the pinata on top of music sheets that had the birthday song printed on it.  SO CLEVER, CRAFTY and freaking amazing.  She also made the little name sign on top of the cake. ❤

image

We always try to celebrate each other at work whether it’s a birthday, a celebration, or a great life moment.    I love my job and the creative/loving team I work with.  This party is just one example of what we do for each other.  ❤

Statement Neckalces for Fall 2013/Winter 2014

Got these two Necklaces from Piperlime and they were super gorg. One is from Tinley Road and I believe the second is from Pim + Larkin.

LOVED both of them and found that they matched everything in my closet.  I could wear it with a collard shirt & crew neck sweater or with a cocktail dress.  I wore the necklace on the left in Vegas this past weekend and I can already tell these beauties will be staples in my closet this fall/winter!

Target Home Decor

I went into Target to grab some holiday treats but was REALLY distracted by a few of their home goods items!  I’m debating whether I should go back and get em…(would Markel notice?)…  I seriously want all of these so bad.  I’m not sure if I should wait till the after holiday sale or go grab it ASAP~~~ gahhh

Dead weight

image

Got my hair diiiid yesterday.  I’m still in total shock…but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.  I chopped off about 8 inches.  As soon as the stylist make the first cut, I wanted to take it all back and run away.  *sigh *

I haven’t had short hair since…high school?  I can’t even REMEMBER!!  Luckily my hair grows pretty fast so I’m hoping it’ll be the length I want by Spring.

One really great part of this haircut is that ALL my bad/dead/damaged hair is gone.  My hair feels thicker, healthier and just…brand new.  I’m really grateful for that…now I just need to learn to stop coloring my hair!

Report Roland Shoes

I am totally obsessed with these Roland booties by Report!!  I haven’t taken them off since I got them last week. =)

Not only are they super comfortable, but since they have a low heel and are only ankle height (rather than full knee high boots)~ they’ve been versatile enough to wear with everything in my closet.  I have size 8 fee that are wide so the first time I wore them they were a little snug.  But after the first wear, they have stretched to my feet and are now even MORE comfy. =)  I plan to wear these babies in vegas this weekend while we walk around shopping and sight seeing!

I totally recommend these babies to everyone!!  Piperlime is having a sale on them right now too~~~

Happy Friday!!  xoxo Esther

DV SHOES: GEO

Bought these GEO shoes by DV and I LOVE THEM.  They are super comfy, stylish and perfect for summer (or all year round in LA =P )

My feet are wide and these shoes make them look a little long (b/c of the pointed toe) but somehow it all balances out in these shoes.  Haven’t worn them outside yet b/c LA has been having colder boot weather.  =)

But I hope to sport these babies soon!

Potty Training Lucy

2013-12-04_16-59-41_948

What a nightmare…we love our little Lucy bear but she is NOT easy to potty train.  In fact…Markel and I are finding it pretty hard to train her to do ANYTHING at this point.  Lucy is 10 weeks and about 1.3 pounds.  OBVIOUSLY she’s still a baby and miracles shouldn’t be expected…but we were hoping for a little bit of an easier time than we’re having.

Owning a puppy has been such a magical experience.  Lucy is a bundle of love and wet kisses from morning till night.  She jumps around for about 30 minutes and exhausts herself and needs a 3 hour nap to recover (much to our relief).  Those 30 minutes are…intense.  As cute as she is when she’s awake, Lucy chews on everything, cries when we aren’t holding her, and eliminates wherever she pleases.  We’ve gotten pretty good about seeing the signs for elimination but…it’s still not awesome.

When we first got her, she was so little that we got to see her discover her paws, learn to cry/bark (not excited about this one), get brave and jump on/off things, and see her personality develop.  We’re totally in love with who she is becoming…we just need some MAJOR dog whisperer action in the Blair home.

My boss has a new puppy and he recommended that we use his water gun method.  Whenever we try to use the word “bad”, “quiet”, “down”, etc and Lucy doesn’t listen~ instead of spanking or something more severe~ a shot of a water gun helps reinforce the word.  AND HONESTLY~~~ it’s the BEST advice we’ve gotten about dog training so far.  The force of water totally shocks Lucy and from that moment on, she totally remembers the command that we give.  When we say “bad” without the water gun, Lucy stops in her tracks and stops whatever she’s doing.  We’re still working on “quiet” and “down” but so far it’s been the best form of training!

I’m sure this isn’t a Dog Whisperer approved method for training, but it’s been the only thing Lucy responds too.  We tried the positive reinforcement only technique and well…it indirectly allowed her to poop/pee/chew/cry anywhere.  It was NOT helpful for us.

We’ve had Lucy for 3 full weeks now, going on the 4th.  We hope that in the next 2 weeks-4 weeks she will be totally potty trained.  Of course she’ll have accidents up until 6 months~ but we’re hoping by the time she’s 3-4 months she’ll have the hang of it!

Wish us LUCK!!

(ps–during my winter break, i fully intend on watching Caser Millan’s show on netflix!)

Sweater Leggings: Yay or Nay?

I see these sweater leggings EVERYWHERE lately and I’m not sure if I should jump on the trend band wagon and buy a pair.  Markel says “NO” b/c he things they’re fugs.  BUT…I can’t help wanting a pair still.  LOL

YAY or NAY people???  Are these hideous or will they always be super cute during the winter at home with some hot chocolate, uggs and a cozy sweater?

Lucy Blair <3

Do you believe in engagement anniversary presents???  CAUSE THE BLAIRS DO!!!

Meet our new baby…Lucy Blair!

I’ve been DYYYYING for a new puppy and for about 7-8 months~ Markel and I researched puppies/doggies online at all nearby shelters.  We looked at a number of shelters in our city, but couldn’t find one that would suit our apartment + the fact that we work all day.  God was seriously smiling down on us because it was a total miracle that we knew someone giving away teacup maltipoo puppies!!!  It was the biggest treat and we did our research, went to visit the puppies with a vet friend, and chose the one that called out the most to us. =)

Lucy is the sweetest little pup~~  She has a funny personality and LOVES to sleeeeep.  If you leave her alone for 30 seconds, she’s already snoring away and dreaming about catching something.  LOL  She barks a little in her sleep and her paws twitch like she’s running~ it’s SUPER ADORABLE.

We are SO IN LOVE with our new fur baby.  I can’t believe it took us so long to get one!!  Here is an obnoxiously LONG puppy collage of the most ADORABLE photos of our new baby.  We’re in the process of potty training her~ so that might take a few weeks.

Here is the ridiculously obnoxiously long collage of photos =)

Kate Spade Earrings

image

I bought these earrings in March 2013 and I literally wear them with EVERTHING.  They are classy and sassy enough for work and dinners with the girls. ♥

Im a HUGE Kate Spade fan with purses, clothes, shoes…and her jewelry doesn’t disappoint!  I tend to have sensitive ears, so a lot of Forever 21 earrings hurt my ears.  However, these gorgeous studs don’t irritate my skin at all!

I’ve gotten so many compliments with these earrings~ And the best part?  They come in a variety of colors too!!

I bought mind from Nordstrom, but I’ve also seen them at Bloomingdales as well. 🙂

Weekend Recap and Photodump

This weekend was a nice and long one.  It started off a little sad (I was sick) but by the start of Saturday I was feeling normal again.

Thursday night I had a few friends over for some girl time.  xoxo  It was nice to hang out and catch up~~ Markel went over to our neighbor’s home (and good friends) were the boys watched the Laker game and the girls chatted over pizza, cupcakes, wine and nails.

image

Friday I was home sick eating soups/Ramen and watching Sons of Anarchy all day.  I’m going through Season 4 right now and totally loving it.  I heard seasons 5 & 6 aren’t awesome…so I really hope I’m not disappointed after investing so much!  But the more I watch…the more I love Charlie Hunnam.

image

https://candycouture.files.wordpress.com/2013/11/990f5-sonsofanarchy.jpg

Saturday and Sunday were awesome.  Markel and I spent the day running errands, and just spending time together.  We RARELY get weekends to ourselves to hang out and try new things.

Saturday we went to downtown LA looking for a suit, but we didn’t feel comfortable buying anything from the stores we went into.  The material was obviously cheaper, the deal was $100 for a suit, shirt & tie…but there was a WEIRD feeling that went with it~ so Markel and I ended up leaving.  We also shopped in Ktown for groceries b/c we were hosting Markel’s bro, sis-in-law, friend for dinner.  We seriously cooked up a huge feast of Korean food and I was so proud of the new things I’m learning to make!

Sunday Markel and I ran all over town getting him a new suit from Zara, shoes from Nordstroms and packing for his big trip this weekend.  This is Markel’s first business trip and I couldn’t be more proud of him.  He works SOOO HARD at his job~ like 60-70 hour weeks~ and it’s all paying off!  He’s been getting more responsibilites/projects at work and these business trips are the start to his budding career. =)  I love him so much and it’s so much fun to grow together in our careers and as a couple.  We met in our early 20s and it’s been a fun ride as we mature, get settled in our careers, and make big decisions for our future. ❤

A toast to ourselves and our lives =P

image

Shopping in Century City at Zara~ I found so many cute things I wanted!!

image

Markel Getting a Haircut =)  Such a small and random errand to run together, but I love doing them with him. ❤

Sunday Night we met up with Markel’s college friends that are doing BIG things!!  Two are starting companies and it’s so exciting to hear about their adventures.  Sort of motivates Markel and I to be passionate about our lives and our careers.  We ate at Aroma Cafe (an Israeli restaurant) in Hollywood area.  It was tastey!  The appetizers were my favorite~~

(no pics to share =(  I forgot to take some)

AND THENNNN…the best part??  Markel and I met up with our new neighbors (and good friends) to watch THOR at the grove.  I always forget how much I love the Grove and how gorgeous it is.  The Christmas decorations were all up~ really put you in the holiday spirit! ❤

Andddd Monday I had the day off for Veteran’s Day. =)  It’s a day of purging, catching up on SOA (like Friday) and getting my baby ready for his big trip!  Oh…and about ten cups of coffee (my fav treat).

HOW BEAUTIFUL is this fall weather??

image

This picture below is to celebrate Veteran’s day today.  My big bro (and true life hero) has been in the Army since 2002.  He has fought for his country in Iraq and served for 11 years and counting…  I’m so proud of him and his dedication to the protection of this country. ❤  I’m definitely taking a moment today to remember that. xo

Fall Lipstick

I finally got the chance to try out this fall’s new lipstick trend: dark red/wine lips.

THE BEST PART of this entire trial?  I found the colors in my own lipstick collection!  I had bought a few darker colors a year or two ago and found that it didn’t really compliment my skin the same way bright colors did (bright pinks/reds).  But with the help of this trend coming back, I gave it another try. =)

Colors:

NARS: Damaged (matte color)

Fresh: Sugar Plum (added on top for some shine and moisture)

What do you think?  Love it or Hate it?

Flat Clutch Supreme by Clare Vivier

I REALLY REALLY want this clutch!  I first laid eyes on it in SF while shopping near Hait Street.  Apparently Clare got her start in SF, so the store had a special display case for her items.

Piperlime is selling this baby for $195.  *sigh *  A bit too much for me, but someday I hope it’ll go on sale!

Here’s the piperlime listing: click here

Weekend Recap and Photodump

This weekend was…AWESOME.  I went out on Friday night for my friend’s birthday and then I spent the rest of the weekend resting and catching up with my bff who moved to Sacramento this summer.  I was feeling super under the weather last week and exhausted from LIFE.  So over the weekend I kept to myself and relaxed at home.

Friday: Blue Cow Kitchen & Bar + The Virigl

It was my beautiful friend’s birthday party on Friday and it was SO MUCH FUN.

photo_1love these lights!

The rest of the weekend I literally did nothing but relax… I really needed the down time.  We sold some wedding items which was lovely, and then received some cool canvas prints we ordered. =)

For this upcoming weekend, Markel and I planned on doing NOTHING~~ but that quickly ended.  We have plans Thurs-Sunday.  LOL  I guess we jinxed ourselves huh?
