So happy to celebrating this year with TWO mama’s ❤ I’m very blessed and grateful for them.
So happy to celebrating this year with TWO mama’s ❤ I’m very blessed and grateful for them.
I CANNOT believe it’s been an entire year since we got married in Cypress, CA. The day was BEYOND stressful, we had a few too many drinks, and we danced our asses off. xo That day I married my best friend and I’m so incredibly lucky!! Here are a few (ok more than a few) of our big day! ❤
I am…to put it mildly…OBSESSED with Piperlime. I am such a huge online shopping addict. It’s sad really…I NEVER go to the malls anymore which would probably be a more useful and productive way to spend my time (burn calories and only buy what looks good).
ANYWAYY…here are a few pieces that I’m seriously lusting after this Winter!
I just bought these items below and have been loving them! I’ve worn them for the last few days and really love the quality of the items. Sometimes the fabric/stitching quality is pretty lacking at F21, so you have to be careful of the things you pick! Here are some great pieces I picked up for fall =)
This gorgeous sweater in dark red/maroon
These in Navy Blue
Markel brought home the most wonderful surprise yesterday! He bought a bar cart from Target and brought it home. =) I guess he found it online + used a coupon and then picked it up in the store.
We have been searching for a cart for about 3 months now and we finally have it!! I’m so excited to start decorating it this weekend =)
Once a year, my coworkers and I go to the dorms and participate in something called “major blast” at UCLA. It’s for freshman and transfer students~ to help expose them to our majors/minors and also counsel them in person and answer any questions.
My majors are always SUUUPER popular (not) and I’m busy all night interacting with eager beaver students (not).
But on the plus side, I get to hang out with my coworkers and eat free dorm food! *woot *
Went through my phone and found more Maui pics! xoxo Seeing these photos…I seriously can’t WAIT to go back!!
there was a stingray family of 4!! i’ve never seen mike run down to the beach SO FAST before. while most people were jumping out of the water (it looked like 4 sharks at first), there was one crazy couple that stayed in the water and let the stingrays swim around them (dumbasses…)
Our first round of drinks!
our first meal~~ while waiting for our room to be ready
Free bottle of champagne was sent to us from the hotel ❤
Our snacks =)
Breakfast on our lanai~~ coffee + mimosas. hehe
isn’t our view GORGEOUS??
Black Sand Beach (road to hana)
Markel’s awesome photo skills…
caves! it would have been cave DIVING, but i wouldn’t let markel do it. the water was so stagnant it seemed like he’d catch a bacterial infection or something… >.<
beautiful views ❤
I want to go back =( Maui was so magical… and the food left a permanent impression in my brain and on my tastebuds. *droool *
Best honeymoon spot everrr
Let me just say…it’s pretty fucking overrated. I don’t regret going (b/c it was pretty), But i don’t think it’s something i will ever do again. Laying out by the pool and drinking mai tais vs. driving for 6 hours? uhhh mai tais please.
But Alas…it was gorgeous and something I will always remember.
This is Black Sand Beach. Markel and I swam in it and I have to say…that was the coolest thing we did on the trip.
7 sacred pools
hiking to the pools
Markel climbed the rocks and ended up behind the waterfall. The pictures came out pretty cool.
On the way back down~
lots of waterfalls and stops along the way, where Markel climbed EVERYTHING and crawled into EVERYTHING. I sat along the edge, in shade and just watched. LOL
After the Road to Hana…Mike and I were EXHAUSTED so we ate at Geste Shrimp Truck on the way home:
This was my first trip to Maui and I have to say…I can’t wait to go back. Maybe it was because Mike and I had alone time (honeymoon butterflies) or it was the island itself…or the good food…or the awesome hotel experience we had… But I seriously can’t wait to go back with friends, for a babymoon or just another vacation. ❤
Here’s just a random collage of photos from the trip =)
Isn’t this picture adorable? it’s the logo to a restaurant~~ but I would totally buy this for my house.
At Mala’s restaurant. SOOOOOOOO GOOD. Their food is fresh and delicious~~ PLUS you get to sit out on the balcony and watch sea turtles swim up to the shore!
Ocean View outside the restaurant
Driving around Maui~~ gorgeous sites!
Free Champs from the Ritz! We got it 2 of the three nights we were there. SO SPECIAL ❤
What Markel and I ate each morning. we went to the grocery store and picked up yogurt, cereal, juice and some alcohol =) We also ate breakfast everyday on our lanai (patio) and it was just HEAVENLY.
Geste Shrimp Truck! SOO GOOD. I personally think it was better than Giovanni’s in Oahu.
Mama’s Fish House…AHHHMAZING. Food, service, ambiance…everything was incredible.
The sunset view from our table ❤
With my free lei from dinner, Markel and i were off to the airport to go back to Oahu and celebrate my mama’s 60th birthday!
smelled SOOO GOOD
More Gorgeous Photos from Mama’s Fish House & the beach it was on~~
View of the restaurant
Before Dinner and Before the sunset…GORGEOUS right? It was total Paradise in Maui
This summer seriously FLEW BY. It feels like only yesterday when I wrote a bucket list for myself (and Markel). It wasn’t until 3/4ths of the summer was finished when I realized I was no where near to completing the list. Here’s what I was able to finish below. Since the weather in LA is so great, it’s still possible to finish some of these or even put it on my Fall bucket list.
#2. Overnight hiking trip. I didn’t get to go backpacking, but I was able to go glamping with girlfriends and hike. That counts right???
#5: HAWAII!! xoxo Our honeymoon was AMAZZZZING
#6 The last shopping cart…
#7–Markel unpacked our last box last weekend…which was pretty sad. But at least we’re box free now!
#10 I only read 2 books this summer =( I’m currently reading a third…but I’m sad I wasn’t able to complete this number.
#13–Went to a dodger game this past weekend =)
#15–THIS was the biggest thing I did this summer. I learned a LOT about myself and about what I like to eat. It totally gave me a new view on cooking~~ but I dunno if I can do this again. IT WAS HARD!! Pinterest Challange. There were 31 recipes (1 per day) that I tried. It showed me that I could definitely cook everyday, that it wasn’t very hard, and that we could potentially save money. However…it’s pretty hard to keep it up…
We drove down on Saturday morning (bright and early)~~~ We each brought a ridiculous amount of clothes/shoes for our 1 night trip. LOL oh ladies…
I ❤ startbucks. Love it more than coffee bean~~ This trip I tried something new: Venti Coffee with 3 pumps of classic syrup. It was tastey!
Waiting for our table in front of Hash House. This was a great place~~ huge portions, delicious food, and incredible cocktails. =)
When we checked into our hotel, we told the hotel we were celebrating a birthday and they sent us a box of chocolates and champs! xoxo
We Love the Manchester Grand Marriott Hotel in San Diego!!
Our gorgeous view:
Chilling by the pool
Dinner, Drinks and Dessert at The Oceanaire
The ladies ❤
The rest of the night we drank, hung out in our hotel room, and got late night room service ❤ It was a night of fun to remember!
The next day we grabbed lunch at Sergios and it was TO DIE FOR. LOVED all the food and the California Burritos. YUMMMMMMMMM Can’t wait to take Markel back there.
When I got back home to LA, Markel had a ton of friends over for Sunday Football. WE hung out, drank a few beers and played Cards of Humanity ❤ (our new fave game)
Last weekend was SO FUN and so exhausting. This weekend…will be a lot more chill ❤ Happy Saturday!
Oops, totally forgot to post these from a few months before! The last and final post of the wedding ❤
This day feels soOOOOoo long ago. I can’t believe we got married and are currently living a newlywed life…so weird! lol Feels like yesterday when Markel and I met and were having a blast as early 20-somethings. But 5+ years later…here we are as a married couple. ❤
To check out the other parts of our wedding…
Once a year, UCLA throws a huge Staff Development Day on the lawn outside my building. about 100,000 employees gather and have lunch together, picnic on the grass, listen to music and just get… well appreciated. =P
My coworkers and I spent an amazing 2-hour lunch together just catching up & enjoying the summer day. xoxo It’s always awesome to see so many familiar faces on campus eating, dancing (with the live music) and unwinding on a picnic blanket. ❤
My Turkey Lunch Box
Our little picnic ❤
My new Shoes!! xoxo
Gilt Group was having a sale this week and I snatched up 2 pairs of Bella Ballet Flats. I wanted like 5 different colors, but Markel would kill me…so I secretly bought 2 instead. =P I picked these because they looked really comfortable and they had a nice amount of cushion at the bottom of the shoes~ which means I can wear them at work =)
This was the one I REALLY wanted, but they didn’t have my size =(
Last weekend, my small group and I went to Santa Barbara for the weekend (Los Olivos to be exact) and it was one of the most fun weekends away that I’ve had this year!
We rented a house in the middle of town (because it was close to the vineyards) and it turned out to be a great find! Los Olivos was having a big art fair on Saturday and we were literally a block from all the tasting rooms/restaurants. xo
As a group we ate a lot, played a bunch of games and drank a ridiculous amount of wine. It was the perfect weekend of bonding and learning new vocabulary like Rachet. =P
Here’s a photodump of our weekend.
Our Backyard~ it was GORGEOUS (pictures aren’t very great…)
The Art Fair!
Wine Tasting ❤
Our teams =) (we won by 1 point!!)
Our last group shot
Driving Back to LA
Our last meal together was at Soup Plantation. I love that place. Markel had never been there before so it was fun to introduce him to all my favorite things.
AND…the great news of a late weekend recap post is… It’s already FRIDAY!! WAHOO. I can’t wait for this weekend~~ xoxo
Happy Friday Everyone!
I ordered knuckle rings from Etsy recently (post here) and they finally arrived in the mail! They were so teeny tiny that I was sure they wouldn’t even fit.
I like them a lot. I haven’t worn them or tested them out~ but just trying them on was adorable. The service was fast, efficient, and I would purchase with the vendor again.
The Korean Cermony–this was my FAVORITE part of the wedding. The only time I was completely relaxed and having fun.
Elders throw dates (girls) and chestnuts (boys) and whatever the bride and groom catch signify how many babies we’re going to have ❤
Money Envelopes to help us on our honeymoon ❤
Each biting one side of a date ❤
Tea Love Shot
Carrying his Mama to thank her for raising him
Carrying Me to signify our new life together
The Ceremony =)
–pretty much the only shot i have with my veil on before the wind blew it away >.<
Our face is basically—“ahhh we made it” The weeks leading up to the wedding were SO STRESSFUL, I know understand why people hire wedding planners ( we did not). They are worth EVERY PENNY!
Our gorgeous parents ❤
