Kelly Clarkson: National Anthem at Indy 500!

Oh how I used to love Kelly Clarkson.  She was the first American Idol candidate that I voted for, and the first and only American Idol contestant that I’ve seen in concert.  Clarkson’s voice won me over back in 2002 and I’ve tried to support her through the years by buying her records.

After her third album flopped, Clarkson disappeared for almost 2-2.5 years…licking her wounds and finding a new game plan I’m sure…

Kelly sang the National Anthem at the Indie 500 with Seal this past weekend and she sang beautifully.  I really hope that this means she’ll be debuting a fourth album that’s as awesome as the first two!

–Tony Romo (31) started dating Candice soon after he and Jessica Simpson broke up

–The couple was married at Arlington Hall on Saturday (May 28) in Dallas, Texas.

Teresa Guidice Blames Fame For Family Troubles

From Bricks and Stones:Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice covers InTouch Weekly with her four daughters – Gia, 10, Gabriella, 7, Milania, 6, and Audriana, 2. The reality mom says fame has nearly destroyed her family and her marriage, and now that her brother Joe Gorga and sister-in-law Melissa have joined the show, it’s only gotten worse.

In the exclusive interview, Teresa claims that her brother, Joe, and his wife, Melissa, always wanted the fame that she achieved when she became a Real Housewife. Not wanting to “stoop down to Melissa’s level” and call them “jealous,” Giudice says that she and her brother were once best of friends, and is hurt by reports that he’s urging his wife to speak out against her in the public, simply for the media attention.

“I’m so appalled that they’re doing this just to be on TV,” says Teresa. “You really shouldn’t air your dirty laundry on TV, and my brother and his wife are making it so much worse for us all.”

Terrible News: Giants’ Buster Posey Likely Out for the 2011 Season

Do you think the Giants will be in the world series again?  Dear God, I hope so!!  But with Buster Posey’s crazy injury during yesterday’s game…  Can Lincecum , Cain, Wilson and the other pitchers carry out the season?

The excitment of scoring four runs in the bottom of the 9th to tie the Florida Marlins in the Wednesday May 25th game disappeared instantly for the San Francisco Giants after a horrific 12th inning collision at home plate that will cost Giants catcher Buster Posey the rest of the 2011 season.

With Florida leading 6-2 in the 9th, the Giants scored 4 runs to tie the game. The scored remained 6-6 until the top of the 12th inning, when Marlin’s outfielder Scott Cousins attempted to score from third base on a Emilio Bonifacio fly.

Giants right fielder Nate Schierholtz caught the ball and rifiled a throw to home plate to nail Cousins. The ball appeared to get to Posey an instant before Cousins barreled into the Giants’ catcher to dislodge the ball. The collision bent Posey backwards on his ankles, and he was obviously seriously injured as he was assisted off the field by team trainers.

Cousins’ run held up as Florida got three quick outs in the bottom of the 12th to win the game 7-6.

While the Giants scheduled Posey for a series of medical tests Thursday morning, word leaked out from several players and reporters that Posey’s left leg was broken and he had also suffered torn ligaments. He will miss the rest of the season and will face a long rehab program to get back to the Major Leagues.

Scott Cousin’s decision to charge into Posey brings up an ongoing MLB debate about hard contact plays at home plate. Giants Manager Bruce Bochy had previously called for additional rule protections for catchers who are defenseless as they attempt to catch the ball while a runner is about to administer a full tilt body slam. Giants’ broadcaster Duane Kuiper also stated that baseball must change their rules to prevent serious injuries to catchers during violent collisions at home plate.

The National Football League has taken strict action in recent years to stop helmet to helmet hits and unimpeded body slams. Violations include assessments against NFL teams during games and hefty individual fines against violating players.

Posey was named the National League Rookie of the Year in 2010, and was considered San Francisco’s team leader as they went on to win the 2010 World Series.

Khloe Kardashian: Kim’s Wedding Will Be “Royal Wedding No. 2”

I wonder if Khloe and Kourtney are feeling tingles of envy for the wedding that’s going to happen this year (or next) for Kim and Kris.  I mean, her ring is significantly bigger than Khloe’s and she’s about to have the biggest wedding of the century!

ANNNDD you KNOW Kris Jenner is going to capitalize on this entire event and make sure that People or UsWeekly pay a fortune for the exclusive rights to the pictures.

Oh dear…this is going to be crazy but I can’t wait to see the details of the wedding unfold (obviously on the show and in magazines!).

Step aside, William and Kate: The queen of reality TV is getting hitched, and it’s going to be huge.

Hours after news broke of Kim Kardashian‘s engagement to Kris Humphries after about six months of dating, her little sister Khloe predicted a monstrous, royal bash for her sister. 30.

“It’s going to be royal wedding number two,” Khloe, 26, told E! News Wednesday. “I could only imagine Kim having the hugest wedding.”

Khloe, of course, has been happily married to Lamar Odom for about a year and a half, and she knows that her sister has already dealt with one agonizing decision: Her maid of honor.

She said Kim, 30, will do what she did at her nuptials and give both Khloe and Kourtney, 32, the special title. “I made both of them my maid of honor,” Khloe said. “You can’t choose.”

One major difference between Kim and Khloe’s special day? Mom Kris Jenner told Us Weekly: “She’s giving me more than nine days to plan a wedding like Khloe so fabulously did!”

Adder Jenner, “Kim will have more to do with this one. She has time. She’s going to plan it out. She has a definite, specific thing that she has in her mind I’m sure. It’s been so fast and furious that she hasn’t discussed it with us.”

“Kim has always been a hopeless romantic,” Khloe told Us. “She thinks she is a Disney character, like everything is a great love story. It’s so sweet and cute. It’s just Kim. I feel like she is very much in love with love.”

Idol’s Lauren Alaina: “I Knew in My Heart” Scotty Would Win

When American Idol first aired this season, I completely picked out these two as my fave~~~ but in the end…I was disappointed that Scotty won and not Lauren.  I thought Lauren was a much more versatile singer than Scotty and I loved how she grew over the season.  Her vocals improved, her comfort level on stage sky rocketed and we saw Lauren blossom with our very own eyes in the morning.

OH WELL…I know Lauren will make it big.  Congrats Scotty!

A couple weeks ago I joked that Kris Humphries was the perfect guy for Kim Kardashian. Not only because he’s a black athlete but also because his name starts with a ‘K’ making it just as idiotic as the other Kardashians.

Turns out it wasn’t that much of a joke because Kris proposed to Kim and as you can tell by the title, she said “yes.” How did the proposal go down? Glad you asked. From PEOPLE,

Her boyfriend of six months, New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries, was waiting in her bedroom on bended knee with four words written in red rose petals: “WILL YOU MARRY ME?”

“I didn’t expect this at all,” Kardashian, 30, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview (out Friday) of the romantic, surprise proposal. “I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home, and I never thought now.”

The rose petals were nice and all but let’s get to what was most important to Kim, how big and how many carats was the diamond?

Humphries popped the question with a custom-designed, 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond sparkler. “I just knew I wanted it to be big,” says Humphries, 26, who, with the help of Kardashian’s mom Kris Jenner, planned an intimate family celebration later that evening.

Hold on, I know what you’re thinking. She’s got the rich, black athlete and the expensive diamond but what about the mini-horses covered in glitter? Well, don’t worry. Her mom had that covered.

“Kris really didn’t want a big celebration, but he had jokingly told my mom he’d be fine if there were mini-horses there,” says Kardashian with a laugh. “Later that night at the party, my mom brought out two mini-horses, covered in glitter, for us! It was hysterical!”

Haha, rich people. They’re so whimsical! Throwing their money around like they had a bottomless pit of it. If their money ever dries up, I hope they think back to that day, do a facepalm and ask themselves “why did I buy those mini-horses covered in glitter?!,” as they take another swig of Jack and sink deeper into depression.

The reality superstar and mogul is engaged to basketball beau Kris Humphries, her rep confirms to Us Weekly.

Kardashian, 30, and New Jersey Nets forward Humprhies, 26, began dating in December, and the duo quickly became serious.

Indeed, last month, a Kardashian insider told Us that the E! star planned to move to NYC in order to be closer to her man. “This is it for her,” the source said. “I foresee an engagement this summer.”

Although she kept her nuptial news a big secret, Kardashian, whose exes include football star Reggie Bush, baskteballer Miles Austin and (briefly) Halle Berry’s model ex, Gabriel Aubry, has been frank with Us about her latest man.

“He just has a really good heart,” she told Us over Valentine’s Day weekend. “There has to be trust and honesty and chemistry. If you don’t have any of those, it’s never going to work.”
