More Hawaii Pics =)

Got these from my mom the other day!  ahh…makes me really want to go back.

These are pics from our last day~I was so confident about my paddle boarding skills until the ocean owned my ass.  I lost my sunglasses and scraped my knee =(  But it was still great fun to go out and try something new with Mike and my family. ❤

How adorable are these bathroom signs??

Once we got back to LA, we literally vegged out on the couch for hours.  EXHAUSTED, happy to be home, and missing Hawaii all at the same time.

Hawaii (Part II)

My friends were on their honeymoon as well and we got to hang out together for 2.5 days =)  Here are some of our adventures~~~

My mom makes delicious gimbap from scratch xoxo  She made us snacks before we left each morning!

Along our drive of the island, i took some pics~~ but these really didn’t do the island justice.  It’s GORGEOUS there!

Flip flop wine from an ABC store.  so cute!

Shaved Ice from Waiola!  THE BEST SHAVED ICE, hands down.  The consistency is soft like snow or powder.  Seriously melts in your mouth.

Got a ton of candy from Lin’s!  SOOOO GOOOOD.   Hawaiian’s love Li Hing Mui powder on everything sweet they eat.  It’s like a sweet/sour plum powder that has a really mild flavor.  I don’t mind it, Markel HATES it.

Hawaii (Part I)

ahhhhhhhhhhh I can’t believe Hawaii was 3 weeks ago.  Feels like just yesterday we were lying on the beach and eating spam masubi’s ❤  I have about 6 posts about it~~ so bare with me people.  I need to relive such an awesome trip during the most stressful time at work.  LOL

Markel and I flew to Hawaii on a night flight out of LAX.  We were both tired and just ready to get to the white sand beaches of Hawaii!

Upon arrival, the weather was noticeably more humid than LA.  But were exciiiited!

When my mom picked us up, we went home for a delicious home cooked meal~~ something I had been craving for MONTHS.  My mom’s such a great cook and it was HEAVENLY to eat all her little treats.

image

Next to my mom’s cooking~ the second thing I can’t WAIIIT to eat is PAPAYA!  There’s a rainbow papaya (red) and a yellow papaya.  The rainbow one is candy sweet and the yellow one is just fruit sweet.  haha I don’t know if that makes sense…LOL

My mom buys a case at a time from the distribution factory and they are SO incredibly fresh. *DROOL*

View From My Parents’ Place ❤  right next to Ala Moana Beach and a short walk from waikiki ❤

The first morning, Mike and I were there~ we went on a walk with my mom near her place along the beach.  She does this walk along ala moana beach and it leads to Magic Island.  SUCH A BEAUTIFUL TREK!  Here are some pics we took on our walk~

Don’t some of these look like fake desktop photos??

After our morning walk, we went to the Stadium Flea Market.  I hadn’t been here since 2005, so it was nice to go back there.  This place was literally EVERYTHING touristy.  Anything with Hawaiian print, Hawaiian souvenirs, etc.  The three of us bought some nice things and also got a few items for my mom’s big birthday cruise at the end of the week (she wanted a Hawaiian theme).

Isn’t this so cool??  If Mike and I had a bigger place, we totally would have taken one of these bad boys home.  These are all hand carved from a specific kind of tree in Hawaii.

Next Up?  Dole Plantation!  YUMMM

We also went to Turtle Beach next to North Shore, but the turtles weren’t out to play =(

For dinner, my bro and his wife came over for dinner to eat my mama’s amazing cooking.   Since I don’t get to eat my mama’s food often, I always pig out whenever I can get it.  She makes the best side dishes, kimchi, meat, noodles…EVERYTHING!!  *droooooooooool *
